Corey Knebel and Scooter Gannett to attend the 2016 MECA VEST A K-9 FEST

The MECA Foundation announced today, the return of Milwaukee Brewers Scooter Gennett and Corey Knebel to the 2016 MECA Vest a K9 Fest. The 5th annual event, scheduled for July 23rd, 2016 will bring the community together to raise funds for Wisconsin police canines to receive bullet and stab proof vests.  In addition to these life-saving vests, the MECA Foundation provides veterinary care and financial support for Wisconsin’s police canines.

“Our goal is to protect all of our police dogs by providing each one of them with a bullet proof vest. Police dogs deserve the same protection their human partners get,” said Knebel, pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers.

The MECA Foundation, founded by Marla Lichtenberger, DVM, DACVECC is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting every police dog in the state of Wisconsin with bullet resistant and stab proof vests.  In addition, the MECA Foundation also assists Wisconsin police K-9 Units purchase police dogs by donating grants to Wisconsin K-9 Units.
