MECA Foundation Announces More MLB Players to Attend MECA Vest A K-9 Fest

Greenfield, WI, May 29, 2017:     Milwaukee Major League Baseball players Corey Knebel, Oliver Drake, Zach Davies, Jared Hughes and Jett Bandy will be in attendance at this year’s MECA Vest A K-9 Fest, joining Starting Pitcher, Chase Anderson.

On July 15th, Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals, 3670 S. 108th St, will host MECA Foundation’s 6th annual fundraiser from 10am-3pm.

“It’s very near and dear to our hearts.  I think those dogs that go into battle and into dangerous situations, they need protection. For us to fundraise for them is a big thing,” said Chase Anderson.

MECA Vest A K-9 Fest, sponsored by WaterStone Bank, is free and open to the public.  Autographs are available for purchase during a meet and greet with Milwaukee’s MLB players beginning at 11am.  In addition, festgoers can enjoy live music by country star Nora Collins, see police canines in action during live demonstrations, browse vendor booths and bid on silent auction items. In addition, a petting zoo will be located at this years event to encourage entire families to attend.  Raffles will be held throughout the day.  Funds raised further MECA’s mission of providing all of Wisconsin’s police canines with vests to protect them in the line of duty.

The MECA Foundation, founded by Marla Lichtenberger, DVM, DACVECC is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting every police dog in the state of Wisconsin with bullet resistant and stab proof vests.  In addition, the MECA Foundation also assists Wisconsin police K-9 Units purchase police dogs by donating grants to Wisconsin K-9 Units.
